Minis and Monsters - unofficial event                  13th March 2022
Definitely a highlight run for 2022 so far, a total of 45 AC Cobra’s and Minis with a blue light escort to a 50’s Diner in Centurion. Definitely going to become an annual event with the Cobra Club but maybe another Venue next year. A big thank you to Cor’s Diner for organising extra food vendors and going the extra mile, to the Cobra Club for organising the TMPD convoy, and to TMPD for their execution of a very successful Blue light escort exercise.

AGM feedback                                                            6th March 2022
We had 15 minis and a great turn out. The committee was re-elected except for Philip who has re-joined the Armed forces and is focusing on his military career. Gina Howes has joined as support which means the committee now consists of 4 couples really dedicated in making our club run like clockwork. A big thank you to Bill Sales who opened up his home and collection of classics for us to view. We also have a few new members who joined us and we welcome you to our Mini Family.

Gilroy Brewery, Pub & Restaurant-20th February 2022

Chairman's Chatter
How time just disappears when the cooler months are over, Our Jacaranda run was great, and looking at the lack of rain we could easily have has a Johannesburg Run through Melville this month. Maybe next year. We are in limbo about another lockdown so I do not want to make any Unofficial December plans, so keep an eye out on the whatsapp groups and facebook for announcements.

Very Important to bring your Ticket tags along for the draw if you hvent handed them in yet!

Older News
Chairman's Chatter

Greetings Mini family! 2020 got off to a great start for MOCSA… then Covid happened. To our Mini Club members and Mini-crazy hangers on, we have missed you all. Since our AGM in February, with the lockdown and the various levels of social distancing, we have kept our last few outings very low key. Those who receive our Whatsapp and Facebook notifications will testify to how much we’ve missed socialising as a club. Just before lockdown, we managed to get a small group out to the Montecasino Bird Park and what a pleasurable event we had. Our most recent outing was the ever-so-popular Jacaranda run with a total of 20 Minis in convoy cruising through Pretoria in search of purple flowers, undeterred by the promise of rain.

Sad Goodbyes

We have, sadly, lost Steve Quinn to a heart attack and our thoughts are constantly with Janice. Lee Doran and Rui Bruno have left us for overseas ventures and we wish them well in their endeavours. Rough Times A few of our members have had challenging times with their health and some have had to isolate themselves due to the Covid 19 virus, but all in all everyone is in good spirits. Many have been dealt a nasty blow in the business and work arena and we wish everyone a speedy recovery and to those who lost work or whose businesses were badly hit, we trust that this too will pass and that your pastures will be green again soon.

Recent Events 2020

Just on the eve of lockdown, a small group of Mini Club members still made it out to the Montecasino Bird Park for a stroll, a bird show and a lunch together before the strange times of 2020 set in.

We had another wonderful turnout at this event, which was touch and go due to the number of people allowed at events during lockdown. We all congregated at the Centurion Model Engineers club and had a great day around the braai and model trains with fantastic weather.

Our most recent outing was the always popular Jacaranda run with a total of 20 Minis in convoy cruising through Pretoria in search of the legendary purple flowers, undeterred by the threat of rain.

Diamond Raffle
We are still selling tickets for a beautiful diamond valued at R6000.
Tickets are available from the MOCSA website, Prima Lux Jewelers in Cullinan, and from Henriette at R50 each. Please support us as we raise funds for our Club.
The diamond can be viewed at Prima Lux Jewelers in Cullinan. Dawn will be pleased to show you.
24th May 2020 is the special Mini Run where we do the draw at a view point overlooking the Cullinan diamond mine. This will be a champagne celebration with Dawn who has donated the Diamond.

As Chairman I get numerous calls about technical info and spare part and service requirements for the BINI's.  As you might be aware these New generation minis were launched in 2000, that's 19 years of Bini.  So we are actively spreading our wings and BMW MINI and ourselves will be working closer together on this years events too.
If you know of anyone who works on these new generation cars in your area, please let me know so we can refer clients and members when the call arises. If you have a Leyland or BMC mini which you would like to sell contact us as the excitement is contagious and we have buyers looking to own the Classic and New Models.
